Its a neighbourhood market on a cross-shaped footprint (8m x 8m) for the residents of Jalgaon which respond to the local climate, community needs, and user behavior, creating a vibrant and accessible public space for everyday commerce and interaction.
Concept
The pavilion is designed to be open and accessible from all directions, encouraging community interaction and seamless movement. Considering Jalgaon’s hot and dry climate, a water body and tree-covered pathways help improve comfort and microclimate.
With no boundary walls, the site maintains a sense of openness and inclusivity. The shops are planned according to the number of vendors and the type of goods sold, ensuring efficient use of space.
The pavilion aims to create a vibrant community hub that supports local vendors and fosters social connection within the neighborhood.
